A Dance Celebration!

BG dancers

We were absolutely delighted to receive so many fantastic entries into the Celebration Dance Competition we ran last term with videos submitted from 15 schools it made it a tough job for the judges to choose the winning entries.

Cottenham

The competition was an in-school event where the School Sports Partnership provided the ideas and resources for schools and children to get involved within their own school.

The theme of the competition was The Commonwealth Games -inspiring friendship, embracing celebration and diversity and connecting communities with entries open to primary and secondary schools who were invited to submit one video entry per key stage. Performances were then judged on their link to the theme, performance of skills, creativity and staging.

Cottenham VC

Some schools ran their own intra school competition and then sent in their chosen entries to be judged. We wanted all children to have fun and enjoy taking part in the dance competition with friends and we certainly felt this was the case watching through the videos.

Scores between the top 3 or 4 schools very close indeed but we are pleased to announce the winners and runners up for the different age categories below:

Key Stage 1

Bassingbourn Primary (Winners)

Guilden Morden Primary (Runners Up)

Key Stage 2
