PRIMARY – Adapted Multi Sport Competition PLUS (SEND)
12 February, 2020 from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Event Navigation
The adapted multi-sport competition is for KS2 children in either mainstream or special schools with special educational needs or a disability. This could be physical, learning or sensory or a combination of these. The key criteria for entry is that the children require assistance and support to carry out instructions/actions during physical activity and because of this they cannot compete in a standard competition format.
Pupils need to be entered in pairs ideally but we can take individual children, it’s reasonably flexible so please do speak to us if you’re not sure. The maximum number of children per school is 8. Each pair will rotate around 4 sports: Polybat, Boccia, Table Cricket and New Age Kurling, and be allocated points for each activity. The points from each activity are then added together to give each pair a total.
Children do not need to have done these sports before the competition, as they will be helped during the event. It is very much about the children having an enjoyable experience and trying out some new sports, with some element of competition.
The top 4 pairs from the Partnership will then come together to create a Partnership Team of 8, to to represent South Cambs SSP at the County School Games Summer Festival on Thursday 25th June.
