SUMMARY:Dance Competition
DESCRIPTION:FOR ALL\, TARGETED\, COMPETITIVE  All of our events will follow our new event themes; For All\, Targeted &amp; Competitive. These themes have been designed to ensure we provide events to benefit all young people.    FOR ALL– These events are for everyone and are delivered in school. They focus on providing 60 active mins for every child whilst supporting their physical\, social and emotional wellbeing.    TARGETED– These events target specific groups of young people who would benefit the most from having positive experiences of sport\, physical activity and competition. The activities and outcomes are designed to reflect the young people’s needs and motivations.    COMPETITIVE– These events are for pupils who are ready and prepared for competition and enjoy performing and competing against others. They provide the opportunity for competition in a positive and friendly environment where the focus is on enjoyment and supporting the wider development of young people as much as the outcome of the event itself.    This is a FOR ALL event open to all children but with the focus being to increase motivation and promote enjoyment for those least active children within your school.     Who for? - Open to all children\, separate competitions for Key Stages 1 and 2.    When - Spring Term. Video entries to be submitted by 20th March 2026    Theme - WONDERLAND ADVENTURES - Dive down the rabbit hole and dance your way through Wonderland\, step into a sparkling world of snowflakes\, glistening icicles and frosty trees or get creative in a wonderland where every step is golden and as magical as Wonka’s factory!! The theme aims to appeal to all ages and link to your dance curriculum or a topic you are studying in school    Format &amp; Criteria - Group performance - Groups can be of any size from 3-30 so small groups\, large groups or a whole class. Can be boys\, girls or mixed gender. Videos should be 1-3 minutes in length\, any dance style and to any music\, but linking to the theme which will be confirmed at a later date.    How to enter - Video entries can be sent in at any time during the Spring Term (deadline 20th March 2026). Maximum 1 entry per key stage per school. It may be an idea to have an intra school competition and select your entries from this.    Please Note: When submitting videos of pupils please ensure that your school photo/video consent policy is followed at all times. No videos submitted as entries into this competition will be shared publicly\, they will only be viewed by the competition organisers and judges. If your videos are too large to email you can send them in for free via WeTransfer https://wetransfer.com/    &nbsp;    &nbsp;              &nbsp;    &nbsp;    If you would like to take part in this event please book on below\, we will send you further information and resources for the competition once we have received your booking.

This is a FOR ALL event open to all children but with the focus being to increase motivation and promote enjoyment for those least active children within your school.     &nbsp;    Taking place in the summer term with fun personal challenges and competitions for all primary aged children with 3 levels of challenges to complete; Bronze\, Silver and Gold.        WHO FOR?  This is aimed at all children in Key Stage 1 and 2.    &nbsp;    WHEN?  20th April - 24th April 2026.    &nbsp;    FORMAT  There are 3 skipping challenge levels:    • Beginners    • Intermediate skippers    • Advanced skippers.    The children can have as many attempts as they would like but to achieve the appropriate level they must perform 10 of each skill without a mistake.  There is also an additional ‘Personal Challenge’ for children to take part in if they want. How many skips can you do in 1 minute?    &nbsp;    &nbsp;        THEME    We would like to encourage children to take part in this event whilst embracing the Spirit of the Games values of determination and self-belief and will be providing schools with certificates to award to those children who best demonstrate these values throughout the week.    &nbsp;    If you would like to take part in this event please book on below\, we will send you further information and resources for the week once we have received your booking.

The activities and outcomes are designed to reflect the young people’s needs and motivations.    COMPETITIVE– These events are for pupils who are ready and prepared for competition and enjoy performing and competing against others. They provide the opportunity for competition in a positive and friendly environment where the focus is on enjoyment and supporting the wider development of young people as much as the outcome of the event itself.    &nbsp;    This is a COMPETITIVE event for girls in Year 3/4 who are ready for competition.  The aim of this event is to support individual development in sport.    &nbsp;     Matches will be 7-a-side and each squad should consist of a maximum of 10 players.   A size 4 ball will be used for all matches.   Substitutes to be made on a roll-on\, roll-off basis\, at a halt in play.   When a goal kick is awarded the opposition side will retreat to the half way line.   No off sides\, goal keepers may only roll or throw the ball out\, or kick from the ground\, otherwise normal rules apply.    &nbsp;    Further information will be issued nearer the time but schools are encouraged to enter early as there are only a limited number of entries for this event\, there are 2 sessions running please book 1 place on the session you wish to come to.    &nbsp;        Maximum teams per school:      1    Maximum entries available:      6 per event (am &amp; pm)    Deadline for entries: 23rd April 2026

SUMMARY:Year 5/6 BIG SCHOOLS Quadkids Athletics

These themes have been designed to ensure we provide events to benefit all young people.    FOR ALL– These events are for everyone and are delivered in school. They focus on providing 60 active mins for every child whilst supporting their physical\, social and emotional wellbeing.    TARGETED– These events target specific groups of young people who would benefit the most from having positive experiences of sport\, physical activity and competition. The activities and outcomes are designed to reflect the young people’s needs and motivations.    COMPETITIVE– These events are for pupils who are ready and prepared for competition and enjoy performing and competing against others. They provide the opportunity for competition in a positive and friendly environment where the focus is on enjoyment and supporting the wider development of young people as much as the outcome of the event itself.    This is a COMPETITIVE event for children in Years 5/6 who are ready for competition.  The aim of this event is to support individual development in sport.    &nbsp;    This event is open to all Big Schools* schools in the Partnership. *The definition of a big school\, based on School Games criteria is any school that has 120 or more students in KS2.    &nbsp;    Quadkids is an exciting and easy to organise athletics concept designed to give more children the opportunity to participate in and enjoy athletics. It covers the core disciplines of running\, throwing and jumping in a team format.    Teams are made up of 5 boys and 5 girls\, with each athlete competing in all events. Individual performances are scored using a points table and the winners are the team with the highest cumulative points score.  All athletes take part in a 75m sprint\, vortex howler throw\, standing long jump and 600m run.    &nbsp;    Download a manual to find out more about Quadkids and the rules of each event. Please refer to pages 14-17.    &nbsp;    Don’t forget to visit the School Games website where you can download resources to support the delivery of intra-school athletics in your school.         More information regarding rules and format of the competition will be sent out closer to the event but schools are encouraged to enter early as there are only a limited number of entries for this event.    &nbsp;    Maximum teams per school:      1 (Please email vjonas@combertonvc.org if you would like to bring a second team)    Number of children per team:  10 (5 girls &amp; 5 boys)    Maximum entries available:      20    Deadline for entries:                     30th April 2026
