Disney Inspired Shooting Stars Workshop

18 May, 2023 from 1:00 am - 2:30 pm

An exciting opportunity for staff to access a FREE, 90 minute, Disney Inspired Shooting Stars workshop.

disney (Medium)

Disney Inspired Shooting Stars by England Football has been designed to support girls aged 5-11 to develop their speaking and listening skills through creative play and storytelling, as well as support the development of their physical literacy and introduce them to football. The workshop is partly practical and suitable for teachers, TAs or coaches working in schools. Each school attending will be provided with bibs, activity dice and printed resources.

More information about the workshop can be found by accessing the course brochure here.

Please share this opportunity with all TAs and support staff and in particular those involved with supporting or delivering PE and physical activity or running intervention/nurture groups as it could be particularly valuable and worthwhile to them.

This is the feedback we recently had from the headteacher at Offord Primary School:

We have identified 12 girls in Y1–Y4 girls who are really struggling with self-esteem, confidence and perseverance at the moment. A TA takes them outside for the first half of lunch (rest of children in the hall having lunch) and does the Shooting Stars activities with them and they then go inside and have their lunch. They all sit together and eat together which is very bonding too. So it is a very intervention/nurture focus group. We have been doing it once a week since September.  The girls love it and it is really making a difference to them.
