As part of our remit as a YST lead school for Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering (LCV) across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough we have been given some funding to provide a minimum of 10 students with SEND access to appropriate leadership/coaching qualifications to support their development as young sports leaders. So we would like to offer any aspiring sports leaders with SEND the opportunity to attend a Boccia Leaders Award on Tuesday 12th January 9.30-2.30pm at Cambourne Village College.

The course will be provided free of charge with the idea the young leaders attending will then be supported to go back into their school and help lead a boccia club or deliver some boccia activities to other young people.

AIM
To introduce the necessary skills and knowledge required to be an effective boccia leader. The course has been designed to cover the important elements of delivering a boccia activity within the community.

OUTCOME
• Introduce the game of boccia, being consistent with the basic rules.
• Lead skill practices and create fun sessions in boccia.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Suitable for 14-19 year olds.
