Thursday 17th March saw 54 schools from across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough compete in the School Games Level 3 Spring Festival for the 2015/16. An exciting competition ensued as children aged 7 to 19 battled it out to become county champions.

The Opening Ceremony took place at One Leisure St Ives Indoor Centre, led by two Young Ambassadors from Swavesey Village College, and was a bright and colourful affair with musical performances from Jack Hunt School, Histon and Impington Primary School and St Alban’s Irish Dancing Club.

Following the Opening Ceremony schools dispersed to the respective venues of their events. Adapted Multi-Sports took place at One Leisure St Ives Indoor, Tag Rugby and Aspire Netball were held at One Leisure St Ives Outdoor and the Gymnastics competition took over Huntingdon Gymnastics Club. Hinchingbrooke School saw schools compete at Indoor Rowing and the Table Tennis competition took place at St Neots Table Tennis Club.

Each venue became alive with the sound of cheering and camaraderie as each school battled it out to become champions. Each school represented one of the five School Sports Partnerships – Cambridge, Hunts, Peterborough, South Cambs and Witchford.
