Orienteering Development Competition
14 February, 2019 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Event Navigation
The aim of this competition is to offer a sport which will hopefully appeal to a different group of young people. It may appeal to your less active children or those that don’t normally get an opportunity to represent the school in sporting competition.
Orienteering is an active outdoor adventure sport that challenges both the mind and the body. Finding points and making choices develops self-belief, respect and team work. Boys and girls can compete together so the sport is ideal for all ages and mixed abilities.
- The event is open to all pupils in Year 3/4
- 4 pupils per team
- Mixed teams
- Teams can include children with SEN
- Aimed at children who do not take part in other school sports teams
- Schools can enter a maximum of 3 teams
All teams will take part in three activities (there is no need to practice the alphabeteering or netball numbers in advance, in fact it is probaly best if you haven’t):
- Team score competition
- Alphabeteering
- Netball numbers
Maximum teams per school: 3
Deadline for entries: 16th January 2019
